Sunday Upper Room Message by Daniel Murungi

Dearest Father, Closest Friend, Most Beautiful One, who am I that You are mindful of me? My life is but one breath in the face of Your eternity, less than a grain of sand and yet You count the hairs on my head, and Your thoughts concerning me are as many as the sand on every earthly sea shore. Who am I that You are mindful of me? I cannot earn what You so freely give. Only by grace is Your throne room open to me, only by grace can I stand before you, and not by any personal merit. Thank you for the Cross Jesus. I praise You, most deserving One. Amen.

And this is my prayer for you all, as you listen to this message about the magnanimity of God. By this I mean the largeness of God's heart, the warmth of His heart, the depthlessness and unconditionality of His love, and the extravagant generosity of His nature. He is so selfless He gave us what is most precious to Him-His Son Jesus Christ.

His Word tells us, "freely you've received, freely give" (Matthew 10:8)

Our God is gracious and full of grace. Everything about Him is exactly what we need.

The apostle Paul was so greatly used of God, he experienced such grace that he was in danger of becoming proud, and yet pride is an abomination before God. To save him from himself, God allowed for "a thorn in the flesh" to torment him. Paul prayed endlessly for this burden, this weakness to be taken from him, and below is God's answer to him.

2Cor.12.9 - And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2Cor.12.10 - Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

He declares, that "when I am weak, then I am strong"

The message of "Grace" is a message of surrender and humility. The knowledge that the air you breathe is dependent on God and should He withhold it, all your accomplishments cannot save you. The knowledge that it's only by grace...... that we can speak, hear, taste delightful things, walk, sing, dance, love and be loved...... God is the guarantor of all life.

Paul demonstrates that God's grace is sufficient for us in every season. In the good, in the bad, in war, in peace ...... God is enough, sovereign, and He is with us. So if you are weak, if you're confused, if you don't know which way to go, if you do not know what comes next, if you're sick, if you're in tears....... whatever situation you find yourself in, "God's grace is sufficient for you". Listen to God even if you're in pain...... He is our salvation.

Rely on God for each step you take, listening for His footfalls so that you will follow every step He takes, and the revelation that Jesus Christ is Grace and Love.

Be blessed.
